FRESNO, CA - The New Mexico State women's golf team fired a 10-over par 298 in the final day of the 2008 WAC Championships at the Sunnyside Country Club Wednesday, Apr. 23 to move up one spot from day two and finish in second place at the championships. Freshman Suteera Chanachai and sophomore Brittany Collins finished No. 2 and No. 3 overall in the individual medalists while Chanachai was named the WAC Freshman of the Year.
The Aggies finished the tournament firing a 48-over par 912 as a team over the three days, which was seven strokes back of Fresno State who overcame a seven-stroke deficit entering the final round to win the championships. NMSU 298 shot on Wednesday was its best round of the tournament.
