The Aggie volleyball team is back in action tonight as they host Idaho in a WAC battle. The Vandals come into the match with a 6-8 record and 1-1 in WAC play. The Vandals' conference loss came at the hands of Hawai', however, the Vandals played well against the Wahine taking a set off of them and losing two of the sets by just four points.
The Vandals are led by sophomore Allison Walker who is averaging 3.96 kills per set. Alicia Milo is averaging 3.75 kills per set. The duo is hitting .201 and .188 respectively. Idaho is a solid blocking team averaging 2.58 blocks per set. Cassie Hamilton averages 4.42 digs per set and the kill leaders Walker and Milo are averaging 2.62 and 2.12 digs per set respectively.
The Vandals average just 0.83 service aces per set and are giving up 1.27 service aces as teams have recorded 61 service aces against Idaho. The Aggies are averaging 1.1 service aces per set and are coming off a match against Louisiana Tech in which they recorded nine service aces.
Idaho as a team is hitting .210 while the Aggies are holding opponents to a .142 attack percentage. If the Aggies can neutralize the Idaho block and hold the Vandals under their season hitting percentage, they'll have a very good chance to win the match. This has been a very even series with the two teams each owning 12 wins against the other. Last season the Aggies had to rally from down 0-2 to win the match in Las Cruces before winning 3-1 up in Moscow.
Tonight's match is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. (MT) first serve and can be seen on ESPN3.com
