ANCHORAGE, AK - University of Alaska Anchorage athletic director Dr. Steve Cobb announced Thursday that the brackets for the 2011 Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout have been revised.
New opening-round match-ups are now Murray State vs. host Alaska Anchorage and Dartmouth vs. San Francisco on Wed., Nov. 23, followed by Central Michigan vs. New Mexico State and UC Irvine vs. Southern Mississippi on Thur., Nov. 24.
The men’s portion of the 34th annual college basketball tournament is scheduled for Nov. 23-26 at Anchorage’s Sullivan Arena.
The Shootout is the longest-running regular-season college basketball tournament in the nation, taking place every Thanksgiving in Anchorage since 1978.
