The Aggie volleyball team is back in action today at 11:30 a.m. MT. The Aggies wil take on Pepperdine in the morning match of the Arizona Invitational. Pepperdine is 6-4 overall while the Aggies are also 6-4. Pepperdine is led offensively by Kim Hill who is averaging 3.47 kills per set and is hitting .279 on the season. Victoria Adelhelm leads Pepperdine in hitting percentage at .410, she is averaging 2.56 kills per set. Both Hill and Adelhelm are listed as middle blockers. Outside hitter Lilla Frederick is second on the team in kills averaging 2.79 per set and she it hitting .236 on the season. Defensively the Waves are a good blocking team averaging 2.41 blocks per set. Middle blocker Brittney Clark leads the team at 1.09 block per set and Victoria Adelhelm is averaging 0.97 blocks per set. Libero Stevi Robinson leads the Waves in digs averaging 4.09 digs per set.

The Waves are 1-2 on neutral courts this season as they were defeated by New Mexico and Stanford in Albuquerque while defeating Tulane in that same tournament (and claiming the battle of the Waves).

The Waves have a couple of common opponents with the Aggies as we mentioned that they lost to New Mexico to start the season losing 3-0. They defeated Rice 3-0 (the Aggies also defeated Rice 3-0).

The second match of the day will see the Aggies take on Texas State. The Bobcats are the defending Southland Conference champions and are 6-5 on the season but have won four of their last five matches. Texas State has four players, three freshmen and a junior, averaging over two kills per set and are led by freshman outside hitter/middle blocker Preslie Alexander at 2.76 kills per set. She is hitting .236 on the season. Freshman middle blocker Madeline Gaffney leads the Bobcats in hitting percentage at .407 but is averaging just 1.40 kills per set. Junior middle blocker Amber Calhoun and freshman outside hitter Amari Deardoff are both hitting over .300 with Deardoff hitting .301 and Calhoun hitting .388.

Streaming video will be available for the Pepperdine and Texas State matches and is free.

Live Stats will also be available for both the Pepperdine match as well as the Texas State match.

The Aggie soccer team is back in action this evening as they host Alabama A&M. Tonight's game is the first AggieVision produced soccer match.

Alabama A&M is 0-7 on te season and quite frankly has struggled mightily. They are allowing a mind boggling 7.14 goals per game this season while having scored just one goal in seven games.

Teams are averaging 25.6 shots per game while Alabama A&M is averaging just four shots per game.

Given the Aggies' defensive ability this season, we would be shocked if Alabama A&M scored a goal in this game. That being said, you can be sure that Coach Needham has drilled into his players' heads this week that you can't overlook any team, no matter how bad they are. You never want to be a team's first win, especially one like Alabama A&M.

The Lady Bulldogs have used four different goal keepers and as you can tell from the statistics, none of them have had much success. We wouldn't be surprised to see freshman goal keeper Erin Wosick start today's game (as she did against Prairie View A&M as they try to build their depth at goal keeper.

Today's match is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time and can be seen on AggieVision.

Finally, be sure to check out this week's interview with Aggie cross country coach Paul Harkins, this week's Know The Foe with MinerRush.com's Adrian Macias and Steve Macy's latest blog entry.
