The Aggie women's basketball team notched a victory over SIU-Edwardsville last night in the Hotel Encanto tournament. Madison Spence scored 16 points as the Aggies built a 20-point lead just over midway through the first half. The Aggies went into the break up by 15 points and led by 18 with 14:10 left to play. SIU-E made a run and cut the Aggie lead to six points twice in the final two minutes but the Aggies were once again outstanding from the free throw line down the stretch hitting six of eight free throws in the final minute.
The Aggies held SIU-E under 40 percent shooting for the game and in what has been a statistical trend over the course of the past two seasons, the Aggies won again when holding their opponent under 40 percent shooting.
The Aggies will take on Michigan (4-1) tonight at 7:00 p.m. in the Pan Am. The Wolverines routed Stephen F. Austin 86-61 in the first game of the tournament. Tonight's game can be heard on KSNM AM 570 in Las Cruces and streaming audio and video will be available via Aggie Access.

The Aggie volleyball team is in Fort Collins today to take on No. 23 Colorado State. Today's match is the regular season finale for both teams and for the Aggies, a win could put them into the NCAA Tournament, a loss will almost certainly end their season and keep them out of the tournament. The Aggies do not have a bad loss (i.e. a loss to a low RPI rated team), however, they're still lacking a marquee win to put them over the top.
Colorado State is the Mountain West Conference champion and is the 18th rated team in the RPI and the Aggies are 76th in the RPI.

The Aggie football team is in San Jose today to take on the Spartans. This is a very winnable game for the Aggies as the Spartans have struggled to a 1-9 record and are 0-6 in the league. A win today would also, combined with losses by Utah State and Louisiana Tech, move the Aggies into a tie for 7th in the WAC and it would also assure the team that they wouldn't finish in last place in the league.
The Aggie offense showed improvement in the 4th quarter, albeit against Nevada's subs, but it was improvement nonetheless. Hopefully the Aggies can build on that momentum from their two touchdowns late and put some points on the board and notch their 4th victory of the season.
Today's game can be heard on KGRT 103.9 FM in Las Cruces and streaming audio will be available for today's game. The game will also be aired on AggieVision and starts at 6:00 p.m. MT.
