The Daily Aggie :: 12/27/08

Brian Dohm of the L.A. Daily News reports that UCLA's DeWayne Walker will be making a campus visit on Monday (h/t Teddy Feinberg). Walker is believed to be one of two finalists for the Aggie football head coaching position. KDBC's Jessica Moran noted in her sports broadcast that the Aggies are the lone remaining FBS school without a head coach as Army chose Cal Poly's Rich Ellerson to be their next head coach yesterday.

As we mentioned yesterday both Aggie basketball teams will be back in action tomorrow. Both squads will finish out their non-conference schedules this week (though the Aggies will play one more non-conference game in the Bracketbusters). The Aggie men will also open up conference play next week as they open on the road at Fresno State on Saturday, January 3.

The Aggie women will open up conference play in roughly two weeks as they still have a trip to Lawrence, KS next weekend. Head coach Darin Spence has a goal of seven wins in the non-conference season for his young squad and if they can pull of three wins in this upcoming stretch, they will accomplish that goal and will head into conference play with tremendous momentum.
