The New Mexico State Aggie volleyball team will head to Berkley, CA and the campus of Cal to take on the West Coast Conference's St. Mary's College in the first round of the 2008 NCAA Tournament. The Aggies will be seeking their first ever victory in the NCAA tournament. NMSU will face the Gaels on Friday, December 5th at 7:00 p.m. MST.

According to the St. Mary's athletic website, St. Mary's will be making their fourth appearance in school history. The Gaels made appearances in 2003, 2004, and 2005. The last time the Gaels played in Berkeley, CA they advanced to the round of 16, after defeating Sacramento State and California in Hass Pavilion.

St. Mary's finished the season 20-7 and 10-4 in the West Coast Conference, good for third place in their league. The WCC has five participants in this year's tournament while New Mexico State is one of just two teams from the WAC.
