The Aggie football team kicks off today in Moscow, Idaho at 3:00 p.m. MDT. The Aggies are definitely the more athletic team and despite the injuries they still have more weapons on offense and defense. It's homecoming for the Vandals and so the Aggies will need to overcome the atmosphere and for many of the team members it's their first trip to the Kibbie Dome, the league's only indoor stadium. Marquell Colston's status for today's game is still up in the air as is Marcus Anderson's status however, Felix Chavez of the Las Cruces Sun-News reported on his blog that the duo did practice on Thursday.
Reader Roberto passes along an interesting article from Rob Alger of the Idaho Press-Tribune who reminds coaches about their upcoming rivalry game with Boise State. Alger wonders if the Vandals should sit some of their ailing starters in hopes of springing an upset against Boise State later this season. It's an interesting proposition. The Vandals have already been eliminated from postseason consideration and we're sure Coach Mumme and staff wouldn't mind seeing the Idaho second-stringers. Anything that will aid in the goal of becoming bowl eligible is welcome. You can watch today's game on the Altitude Sports Network, the game will also be televised on ESPN Gameplan as well as online via Aggie Access (subscription required). The Aggie volleyball team is in action this evening at 6:00 p.m. MDT in Ruston, LA. The Aggies are taking on the league's last place team in the Lady Techsters. The Aggies have not lost to Louisiana Tech under head coach Mike Jordan. The Aggies are a perfect 7-0 and have dropped only two sets against the Lady Techsters in those seven matches. This outcome of this match should be similar to that of the UTEP match on Wednesday night. The Techsters are capable of playing good volleyball as was evidenced in their 25-15 first set victory over Nevada, however, the Aggie defense should be too stifling for the Techsters and the Aggie offense should be overpowering tonight.
