Yesterday's big news was that the Aggies had granted freshman point guard JayDee Luster a release from his scholarship. How much impact will this have? With Jonathan Gibson returning, Chris Cole hopefully making some strides on the offensive end and Terrell Joyner, former Arkansas signee coming in, the was likely to be about the same amount of playing time for JayDee as there was this season. JayDee did provide one of the highlights of the season when he made a between the legs, while in the air, assist to a streaking Baby Matrix against San Jose State in the next to last game of the regular season. The fact of the matter is that playing time is important for every college player's career, which is made the unselfishness of Trei Steward so special.
The Aggie baseball team defeated San Jose State 15-9 yesterday afternoon to cap off the 3-1 series victory to open the conference season. This was a good weekend for the Aggie baseball team, getting off to a strong start in league play. The Aggies actually had a chance to sweep the series but pitching likely cost them game two of yesterday's doubleheader. We're sure though that Coach Ward is pleased overall with the performance of his team and you'll be able to get all his thoughts in this week's interview, coming early this week.
