Traffic And Parking Information For The 2008 WAC Basketball Tournament
NMSU will host the Western Athletic Conference basketball tournament next week, March 11-15. Since there will be games every day, there will be some impact on traffic congestion and parking at the Pan American Center.

Payne Street will be closed to traffic between Triviz Drive and Stewart Street at 4 p.m. each day. Only individuals with appropriate credentials (WAC tournament parking pass or state-issued disabled parking placard) will be able to access the closed portion.

Lot #38 (south of the Educational Services Building) will be closed in the late afternoons. Vehicles leaving after 4 p.m. may not be allowed back in without the appropriate tournament parking permit. Portions of the lot may be closed all day and will be indicated with signs.

Heavy traffic is expected in the area around the Pan American Center in the evenings, as this is the time when the Aggies will be playing. Anyone not attending the games is encouraged to access campus via Espina Street, Union Avenue, Sam Steele Way or Wells Street to avoid the traffic. Daytime parking and access to lots east of the Pan American Center (prior to 4 p.m.) should not be affected.
